What does the connecting rod assembly consist?


The connecting rod is an integral part of the piston connecting rod mechanism, which includes the shaft, the bearing cover (pot cover) bolts, the bearing (small pot) and the piston pin sleeve (brass sleeve). The connecting rod is a key component directly related to the durability or reliability of the engine. During the warranty period, attention should be paid to whether the following parts of the connecting rod are normal.

(1) The oil injection hole of the connecting rod head must not be blocked, and the position of the small hole should face the right side of the engine and must not be reversed. Whether it is the large side or the small side of the connecting rod, the direction of the oil injection hole should prevail, otherwise the oil on the piston pin will be insufficient and the pin and copper sleeve will be worn out.

(2) The center lines of the small end and the big end bearing socket of the connecting rod should be parallel to each other. The allowable error between the small end and the big end bearing socket and the center line is 0.05mm within the length of 100mm, and the allowable error is 0.10mm within the length of 100mm. If it exceeds the above allowable range, it should be corrected and adjusted, otherwise the height of the piston top is inconsistent, which will affect the compression ratio, cause power imbalance and unstable operation. But also due to the bending of the connecting rod.

The piston is stuck in the cylinder, which aggravates the wear of the piston, piston ring and cylinder wall, and seriously affects the pressure of the cylinder. A set of connecting rod bearing holes with large center and length error may confuse the connecting rods of similar engines. This happens in the overhaul workshop. If it is not corrected in time, it will not only make the compression ratio inconsistent, but also affect the positioning center of the cutting connecting rod bearing and the cutting connecting rod copper sleeve.

(3) The torsion of the connecting rod cannot exceed the tolerance. The large headgear hole and the small headgear hole are not parallel and twisted in the length of 100mm. 05mm, that is, when there is an angle between the two centerlines, it should be corrected. After the engine is disassembled, remove the bearing and copper sleeve, and correct it according to the end face of the connecting rod.
