The loose parts are nothing more than the cross bearing of the universal joint or the steel bowl and the flange fork, the spline shaft and the spline sleeve of the expansion sleeve. Generally speaking, the shaft diameter of the cross shaft and the opening of the bearing should not exceed 0.13mm, and the meshing gap between the expansion spline shaft and the spline sleeve should not be greater than 0.3mm. Repair or replace it when it exceeds use.

In order to reduce the axial sliding resistance and wear of the sliding spline, sometimes the spline teeth are phosphated or sprayed with a nylon layer; some rolling elements such as needles, rollers or balls are placed in the spline groove, and rolling friction is used instead of Sliding friction to improve transmission efficiency. However, this structure is more complex and costly. Sometimes in order to transmit severe impact loads, a flexible drive shaft can also be used. The splines on the drive shaft should have lubrication and dust-proof measures. The gap between the spline teeth and the keyway should not be too large, and should be assembled according to the corresponding marks to avoid the wrong dynamic balance assembly of the drive shaft.
